Digital Audio Mastering

Mastering is the final step in preparing audio to make it ready for commercial release. Unlike mixing, where the rough components of a song are arranged and edited, mastering is typically a more subtle overall process. It is often thought of as the final 'polish' that turns a good song into a great song. Volume levels of the mix are brough up to commercially competitive levels, subtle effects are applied to bring out the shine of a track and add that final layer of warmth and energy.

At Rock Ness Studios, we will also make sure that any mastering project we undertake is optimised for the target platform(s) that you need. Whether just for a CD, or encompassing modern digital services such as iTunes, YouTube and Spotify, we will ensure that your mixes are turned into final masters that will sound great on any system and platform.

As with our mixing services, we will make sure you are 100% satisfied with your audio masters before signing off on a project. We typically aim to turn around mastering projects within 7 working days, but are happy to discuss quicker or more specific times to suit your requirements.
